The standard dimension tolerance of the finished FFC flexible cable is an important parameter of the FFC cable. Whether the tolerance is controlled within the allowable range determines whether a cable can be used normally. Since the dimension tolerance of the cable is so important, we need to analyze the range of some important dimensions of FFC flexible cables and FPC cables that are allowed by the industry.
Below we introduce the standard tolerances of important dimensions of cables with 0.5mm spacing, 1.0mm spacing, and 1.25mm spacing.
1. Cable total length tolerance: The tolerances of the total length of the three spacings are the same
1) Total length 0-100mm, dimensional tolerance ±2;
2) Total length 101-300, dimensional tolerance ±3;
3) Total length 301-600, dimensional tolerance ±5;
4) Total length 601-1000, dimensional tolerance ±10;
5) Total length 1001-2000, dimensional tolerance ±15;
6) Total length above 2001, dimensional tolerance ±20;
2. Cable conductor thickness tolerance: The conductor thickness tolerances of the three spacings are also the same.
1) Conductor thickness 0.035mm: dimensional tolerance ±0.005
2) Conductor thickness 0.05mm: dimensional tolerance ±0.005
3) Conductor thickness 0.1mm: dimensional tolerance ±0.01
3. Wiring conductor width tolerance: The conductor thickness tolerances of the three spacings are the same
Conductor widths 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.65mm, 0.7mm, 0.8mm are all ±0.03.
4. Wiring spacing tolerance: The spacing tolerances of the three spacings are different
1) Spacing 0.5mm; wiring spacing tolerance ±0.04
2) Spacing 1.0mm: wiring spacing tolerance ±0.05
3) Spacing 1.25mm: wiring spacing tolerance ±0.08
5. Full spacing tolerance:
1) Spacing 0.5mm; full spacing tolerance ±0.05
2) Spacing 1.0mm: full spacing tolerance of the wiring ±0.12
3) Spacing 1.25mm: full spacing tolerance of the wiring ±0.15
6. Total width tolerance:
1) Spacing 0.5mm; total width tolerance ±0.08
2) Spacing 1.0mm: total width tolerance ±0.12
3) Spacing 1.25mm: total width tolerance ±0.15
7. Margin tolerance:
1) Spacing 0.5mm; margin tolerance ±0.05
2) Spacing 1.0mm: margin tolerance ±0.1
3) Spacing 1.25mm: margin tolerance ±0.15
8. Wire length tolerance: The tolerance of the gold finger of the three spacings is the same.
1) Gold finger 1-3mm (excluding 3): Gold finger (wire port) tolerance ±0.5mm
2) Gold finger 4-6mm: Gold finger (wire port) tolerance ±1mm
9. Reinforcement plate length tolerance: The tolerance of the three spacing cable reinforcement plates is also the same.
1) Reinforcement plate length 4-6mm (including 6): length tolerance ±1mm
2) Reinforcement plate length 6-7mm (including 7): length tolerance ±1.5mm
3) Reinforcement plate length above 8mm: length tolerance ±2mm
10. Insertion end thickness tolerance: The insertion end thickness tolerance of the three spacing cable insertion ends is also the same.
The insertion end thickness is usually 0.3mm thick, with a tolerance of ±0.05mm
11. Insulator thickness tolerance: The insulation thickness tolerance of the three spacing cable insertion ends is also the same.
(upper and lower adhesive tape thickness + conductor thickness) ±0.03
